| If anyone out there has some advice on how to get a child to clean their bedroom without having to stand over them I would be eternally greatful for it. As I'm sure you have guessed today is cleaning day, and it's taking forever. Although she has been working on cleaning her bedroom for the last three days. It's getting really irritating. I know she'll get it done if I stand in there all day with her, but then I don't get any of my work done. I'm running out of ideas on how to get her to work.
Speaking of work, I've been helping my in-laws out in the peach orchards. I go out and sift through bins of peaches that others have picked off of the trees and throw out the small, brown rot, and blemished ones. It is not a very fun job. You're leaning over a bin that is 2 1/2 to 3 feet tall, in the heat and you're covered in peach fuzz. Which itches like mad and covers absolutely everything exposed. So, generally you were long pants, long sleeves, a hat, and some people were a bandana over their faces. I've done this for the last two years and I've gotten to the point that the fuzz doesn't bother me when it's on my arms, so I wear a short sleeve shirt, which makes it a little cooler. I also go without the bandana. It's a claustraphobia thing, I feel like I can't breathe. So, I suffer the fuzz up the nose making me sneeze every 15 minutes. It's not really difficult work, but it is a killer on the back and can quickly lead to dehydration if not watched carefully. I figured that out early and don't have a problem with that anymore.
Well, I'd better get back to my work around the house. Everyone stay comfortable.
| Wow! I didn't realize just how long it had been since I had written on here. School has been quite hectic, but things are starting to slow down now that summer vacation is here. I am half way done with my nursing school, only one more year to go and I will be an LVN. I can't wait to be done with school. I am greatly enjoying the class, the only thing I don't like is that I'm usually away from home for half of the week. My clinical experience is in a hospital an hour away from my house and we had to be there my 6:30 a.m. Fortunately my grandparents live in that city, so I would stay with them during the week. However, that left my husband and daughter here without me. It was a tough couple of semesters for all of us, but we made it through just fine. This next semester the clinical experience is about 15 minutes from home. This should be much easier on all of us. I can't wait.
My little one just graduated from kindergarten this year. The picture is of her, Riley (left) and her best friend Mariah (right). I think it's a little ridiculus to have a graduation ceremony for kindergarteners, but I of course said nothing to her. I was nice, the kids came in and stood in front of the assembly, they sang 5 songs together, the regular kindergarten class got their certificates, and then followed by the kindergarten/first-grade class getting theirs (my daughter was in this one). Afterwards there was cake and punch to celebrate. Overall it was a nice event.
We're leaving in the morning for the coast. We'll only be gone for three days, but it is a much needed break from the tedium of being home all the time and what else is summer for if not for going away to colder weather. For now I'm off to finish the last bit of packing. I hope everyone out there is doing well and is staying cool. Will try and write when we come back.
| Good day to everyone! I hope the you all are doing well.
I'm doing well, but my life is a little hectic at the moment. As of August 18 I am studing to be an LVN. My studies leave me with very little other time. Last week I started my on site clinical training. We start off in a convalescent home. My clinical site is in Woodland which is a 45 minute drive from my house. That's not too bad, except that I must be there by 6:30 in the morning and I am NOT a morning person at all. Since I am in Woodland 3 days in a row out of the week I am staying with my grandparents who live in Woodland, which difinitely makes the drive problem a bit easier. The only problem is that I am away from my husband and daughter that whole time. Very difficult, but necessary for me to accomplish my goal.
I am doing very well in my classed however, I am averaging a high B to a low A. Unfortunatly I happen to be one of the only few who are doing that well, because it is a difficult class. However, others are getting better grades as we go along due to the hands on experiences that we are getting.
I'm not the only one who is in school. My daughter started kindergarten this September. She is 4 years old, in a Kindergarted-First grade class and among the top 4 out of the 11 kindergarteners in the class. We are extremelly proud of her and are going to do everything that we can to keep her there all through school.
That's about it for now and I will try to write again soon if my schedule permits it.
| Good evening everyone.
The semester is almost over. Yeah!!!! I can't wait to have a break. I've been going to school pretty much nonstop since July of last year. That's a lot after not going for 6 years.
I have recently found out that I will be starting the LVN program out at the college I am attending. This is a two year program and I will have my associates degree by the end of it. So I'm pretty excited and nervous all at the same time.
My little girl starts Kindergarten this September. She is very excited to be going to school "like mommy and daddy." I think I'm ready to deal with this especially since I will have my schooling to keep me busy when she's not around.
That's about it for tonight. I just wanted to let everyone out there now that I am still around just very busy lately. Hope everyone is doing well. Will write later.
| Good afternoon to all.
I just stopped by to say hello and to let everyone know that I am still around and doing fine. I hope the holidays were good to all of you. They were to me.
Talk to everyone later.
